Social Forces Can Shape Who We Are

These hierarchies dictate our place in the world, and control who we think we are. Social categories are made up by humans, and our society has tried to keep us separated by continuing to quantify and put us into groups, yet we are not very different at all. These social forces have caused us to put ourselves into groups, and place value on things we cannot control, like race, gender and access to quality education. Society also highlight power as something hereditary and that without power, it is hard to find success.
