PHASE 1 ) BAM - BORN

8lb 12oz, he was such a chill cat - from the second he came out. Passed all his tests, got high scores (or something like that) and even filled out a killer bracket.. but it was like a flashback. He looked just like our other boy. We even slipped a few times and called him by his brothers nickname.

PHASE 2) Back to the room - Skin to Skin

This is my favorite thing in the world, when mama has close time with our sons. The only thing that makes me happier (besides close time with me) is when she is on the ground playing cars or legos (or the off brand mega blocks) with our boy.

PHASE 3) BATH/PICTURE TIME - say... "ANDROID"!

HI WORLD.. HE seemed to stare right into the camera.. He would look at mom, and then right to the camera. I wonder if babies think there are devices attached to their parents heads. I wouldn't even call us that tech obsessed, but I will say that when my other son sees my phone on the table, he quickly returns it to me as if it was a missing limb.

PHASE 4.1) BROTHERLY TOES

Our older son is 4, and he's really dropped the baby talk. Mama has a hard time with that. Sometimes she's the only one in the house saying "tummy wummy"

But some how we have hung onto toesies... he says please cover my Toesies at night when he goes to bed (I don't want to give this one up either) So, the least we could do was let him touch babies toesies.

PHASE 4.2) BRO-SHOW - His responsibility is to make us laugh

when's he's acting bad, he will look at me .. analys my mad face.. look at me intently - then bust out with some old joke from three weeks ago. A joke or gag I would have sworn he forgot. When I crack a smile he says "You Happy Now" and walks away. point him

PHASE 5) GOING HOME - packed up and out.. ready to start round two!

For my wife, it had to seem like re-entering the earths atmosphere. locked up in a hospital room for 3 days - with nurses poking a prodding her and her new blurb of a life form every 2 hours. Now we're back in the old ford edge down I-35.. but we get to keep the new life form
