On Tuesday, Zayn Malik took to Twitter to help spread the word about one of his biggest fans who's in need of help.
He asked his nearly 27 million followers if they could donate money to support Rylee Sanford, a 9-year-old battling Bilateral Closed-Lip Schizencephaly.
According to Rylee's You Caring fundraiser page, Bilateral Schizencephaly is a very rare developmental birth defect that causes abnormal clefts on both sides of the brain.
As a result of the condition, Rylee also suffers from cerebral palsy.
"Rylee currently can't walk without assistance, and she crawls around our house or we carry her," wrote her family members. "Rylee can say a few words but can't carry on a conversation."
The Sanford family is hoping to possibly simplify their extensive medical expenses with the help of the public. Once Rylee realized Zayn shared her story on Twitter, she couldn't help but smile.
And this isn't the first time Zayn has used the power of his social media and musical following to help someone in need. Back in April, the "Dusk Till Dawn" singer shared a fundraiser to help his mom's best friend.
Rylee Sanford and her family have set a goal of $10K and have currently collected more than $2K in donations.
