The College Struggle Of Finding Internships

    the necessary evil.

Let's talk about internships, college student to college student.

The struggle begins with the search. That one (or bajillion) Google search that could change the course of your life...if you find something.

You begin to lose sight of your future.

And after hours of seemingly hopeless searching, you finally find something that's right up your alley.

You give yourself a tiny confidence boost and decide to apply.

But then.... *reads list of required qualifications*

Apparently it's normal to have 5+ years of experience in the field as a college student.

As if things couldn't get any better, you find out it's unpaid.

And the denial slowly sets in.

So you start to amp up your resumé to compete with the thousands of other applicants.

As if there wasn't already enough to think about, you find out that you need three letters of recommendation.

After you submit everything, you wait impatiently for the next couple of months for your impending success or failure.

People may ask what is wrong with you.

But eventually, the wait is over and you receive the email. Either you were turned away...

...or you totally ROCKED it and landed the internship.

But despite the outcome, I think it's safe to say that you will adult some day, and you will adult so hard.

Just take a deep breath and be confident.

And if all else fails, there's always pizza.
