Neil DeGrasse Tyson Figured Out The Exact Location Where The "Barbie" Movie Takes Place By Using Science

All of this is based on the moon.

Neil deGrasse Tyson was a *bit* late, but he finally saw both Barbie and Oppenheimer.

Late to the party, but I'm playing hookey and Barbieheimering today.

    Will give a full report.

I can't blame him since both have been selling out, and Oppenheimer is essentially an entire day commitment!!

Anyway, the man has some critiques of both.

For one, he says that the first atomic bomb test was at twilight, but Christopher Nolan had it take place at night for cinematic reasons.

Christopher Nolan’s attention to detail in #Oppenheimer was so thorough I’m giving him a hall pass on this one:

July 16, 1945, 5:30am Los Alamos, New Mexico is in full dawn of summer twilight. But cinematically, the atomic explosion looks more striking against the dark of night pic.twitter.com/cxuxv6q3jL

He also went on a two-minute rant about "Barbie, G.I. Joe, Ken, childhood, and the forces that operate on us all."

But one of the ~coolest things~ he figured out is the exact location where Barbie takes place.

According to Tyson, the moon's orientation places the movie in the Florida Keys:

In @BarbieTheMovie, the Moon's orientation places Barbie World between 20 & 40 deg North Latitude on Earth. Palm trees further constrain latitude between 20 & 30 deg. The Sun & Moon rose & set over the ocean. If it’s in the US, Barbie World lands somewhere in the Florida Keys. pic.twitter.com/Vh05tiqraX

I mean, I guess that checks out.
