People Are Really, Really Mad About Jewel's National Anthem Performance: "The National Anthem Should Never Be Changed Like This"

I think we've reached peak outrage with this one.

    Jewel is a bonified icon.

There's the ahead of its time "Intuition."

The Walgreens store radio #1 hit, "Standing Still."

And I would be remiss to do a post about Jewel without including this absolutely bonkers performance of "Who Will Save Your Soul?" with Jessica Simpson.

Sooo, it was no surprise to see the talented vocalist sing the national anthem at the Indy 500.

    Here's the performance:

And as the title of the post suggests, people were really, really mad about it!

From "Get someone who knows how to sing the Anthem"...

... to "Was she just making that up as she went along?"

People genuinely thought it was one of the worst national anthem performances they had ever seen!

But it wasn't all doom and gloom!

    Other people loved it.

    From "That's called embellishment"...

    ... to "Absolutely beautifully done."

Ultimately, it's not that serious! Jewel is going to do her Jewel thing no matter what.

Now, excuse me while I watch a true piece of art: Fergie's 2018 NBA All-Star Game national anthem performance.
