Here's How Similar The "Escape At Dannemora" Cast Looks Compared To Their Real-Life Counterparts

"Escape At Dannemora" is a Showtime miniseries about the truly miraculous escape of two inmates from a maximum security jail in Upstate New York (well, North Country). The two inmates were aided by two prison employees. One, Joyce "Tillie" Mitchell, had sexual relations with both inmates and gave them tools that aided their escape. The other was correctional officer, Gene Palmer. He also provided tools for the two inmates. The story is *truly* surreal and you should read all about it here if you haven't already.

The real Gene Palmer served four of his six month sentence. He was convicted of transporting hacksaw blades hidden in frozen hamburger meat. Palmer claims he had no idea the hacksaw blades were in the meat.
