1. It's official: Some parts of California, specifically the Sierra Nevada, have shattered all-time snow records. The Washington Post says some parts of the state have the largest snowpack on record!
Just silly snow totals for the Sierra...so far. Around 630-8am local time these should be updated with some crossing over 700" What a year!
2. How much snow? Well, in some places there's been OVER 700 inches of snow in just this winter season alone. That's over 60 feet!!!
We have passed the 700" benchmark for this season! We have had 20.7" (52.5 cm) of #snow over the last 24 hours, which brings us to 713.8" (18.13 m) since October 1st. We are expecting more snow today and then a break before more this weekend/early next week. #CAwx #CAwater

The snow in Soda Springs is up to the level of the power lines. The lines literally run through the snow. Just incredible.

Meanwhile, while we’re getting tornado warnings out in the Midwest, at home in CA (South Lake Tahoe) my parents are resorting to big measures by shoveling snow into the snowblower… which is sitting on our roof!! 🤯 #cawx
