Britney Spears May Have (Iconically) Dragged Katy Perry With The Bible

    An investigation.

In case you missed it, Katy Perry gave two separate interviews on the Grammys red carpet where she made two rude-ass comments about shaving her head in reference to Britney Spears. You can read more about that here.

Katy Perry shading Britney Spears on the #GRAMMYs red carpet. You're done bitch @katyperry

Then, last night, Britney cryptically tweeted this Bible verse, which many are speculating is in response to Katy's vitriol.

Her mouth speaks from that which fills her heart ❤️ Luke 6:45

*Pulls out my Bible, puts on glasses, and does a dramatic hair flip*

    Now, let's get to work...bitch.

The first thing you should know about Britney's tweet is that she changed the pronouns from the original Bible verse from "he" to "she."

The original verse (which Britney kinda sorta butchered) goes like this:

As you can see, Britney changed the wording from "he" to "she," which is the main reason people think this is about Katy.

Now, what does this verse mean? Let's dive in, sweeties.

It seems strange that Britney would just randomly tweet a Bible passage that says, essentially, “If you say nasty shit it is because you are a nasty person. Good people just stay focused on good things.”

But what do you care about my opinion? Because I am literally not an expert on Bible things, I reached out to someone who is to get their interpretation of this quote.

Rachel C. Weingarten is the author of Ancient Prayer: Channeling Your Faith 365 Days of the Year, and she gave BuzzFeed her interpretation of the Bible verse. Rachel said, "I kind of love this dig and actually see it as a double-edged sword — it says one of two things."

First, "Britney is taking the high road by positioning herself as someone not talking smack about her rival."

Secondly, "Britney's further taking that high road to another level by damning Katy with her own words. The verse is basically saying that good or bad, a person speaks what's in their heart. So say you have an evil twisted soul, you might be spewing vitriol. Boom. Britney is saying it without saying it about Katy."

    INTERESTING.

So, there you have it. We may never know for sure whether the Bible verse was about Katy, but it's fun speculating.

    Peace be with you.

    *And also with you*
