Black Friday Is Here - What Kind Of Spender Are You?

Congratulations...no really, well done you! The term 'penny pincher' has always had negative connotations but there's nothing wrong with looking after your cash, so few of us are able to do so. We're all bombarded with adverts telling us what we need and yet you’re able to keep a clear head and decide for yourself. You're a back to basics kind of person; after all, the best things in life are free. Not only do you manage your present finances, your frugal nature will help you rack up some impressive savings for the future. However, be warned; thrift shop treasure hunts and up-cycling may make you one cool cat but skimping on toilet paper will leave you irritated...

Penny Pincher

\*Tips hat\* We could all learn a thing or two from you. You always have one eye on your cash, you're happy to spend it but you're never reckless. You're full of creative money saving life-hacks and an expert when it comes to finding a good deal. You're the kind of person who'd organise their friends to do a car boot sale and suggest spending the takings on lunch. You're happy to treat yourself and others but not too often or it wouldn't be special. Your friends look on in awe as you sail smoothly from one payday to another, keeping all finances ship shape. Because of this, people are likely to trust you with their own money and often seek your advice. But be warned; start giving out good money advice and they'll be queuing up. We'll just start calling you Dufresne now shall we?

Cash Careful

There are two sides to you (are you Gemini by any chance?). You're the base jumping accountant, the skydiving librarian, the hells angel dinner lady...your Jekyll and Hyde spending habits are so up and down you'd make a rollercoaster queasy. It's like you can't make up your mind, you buy your clothes from Prada and your dinner from Lidl. You're a 'spend it now, worry later' kinda person; always letting your future self fix your finances. Money can be a bit of a battle for you; having a 'dodgy month' where the spending devil on your shoulder takes the reins it's not uncommon. Thank goodness you have a sensible side to balance the books.

Money Muddled

Far be it for me to judge you...but calm the frig down! Seems to me you're living a champagne lifestyle on a lemonade budget, sound about right? But even if you're loaded, you wont be for long if you carry on like this. Now I’m not saying this makes you a bad person, you're probably the first one to sub a friend if they're short on cash. You're a "pay me back when you can" kinda person, you frequently say "I'll get that" or "my treat" but deep down, you must realise that a generous soul like you could be easy to take advantage of. There's nothing wrong with splashing the cash every now and then on special occasions but my advice is to rein it in a little before the fun runs out.

Flash Harry

Better put an umbrella up cause you are makin' it rain! Unless you genuinely have a donkey that poops gold then I suggest you check yourself before you mess yourself. You're spontaneous and no doubt an absolute hoot to hang out with. You’re the kind of person who lives for today, spends now and thinks later. However, money does not grown on trees and if you keep on down this path you'll find yourself in one chilly financial winter. "But I earn loads of money" I hear you cry, "I can afford this"...well assuming you're not deluded, have you thought what else you could be doing with that dosh? If you really have the itch to spend then why not consider savings and investments? They benefit your future AND the future of the special people in your life. Things may seem fine now but what about tomorrow?
