1. 10 TIMES WHY HBO'S OZ IS ONE OF THE GREATEST SHOWS IN OUR HISTORY
1)The cast alone should make you quiver with fantastic delight, especially if you LOVE "Law and Order" Lets take a look at who is one the show:
Christopher Meloni (the Secretive Neo-Nazi dude you love to hate to love from season ,B.D. Wong (The priest) both from Law and Order SVU (arguably the best Law and Order)
J.K Simmons (The Cray Cray Neo-Nazi dude on Oz) but on the regular Law and Order as the psychologist
and Kathryn Erbe (The Cray Cray chick that was on death row in season 2 of Oz) is on criminal intent.
Edie Falco, yeah she's not on Law and Order but ummm come on!!!! She was Carmela Soprano!!!! And now she's Nurse Jackie!!!
J. D. William is one of those actors who's name escapes you because you only know him by the characters he plays but Kenny Wangler=Bodie from The Wire!!!!!!! Hell yeah Bodie!!!! We love you, you was my fave fave on the wire.
Rick Fox fine a$$ as Jackson Vahue the bad boy basketball player in season one.
2) Tobias Beecher transition from soft, scared, wimpy guy to literally the craziest, harden criminal is something you are going to want to watch. Like if you love Breaking Bad, and lets face it most people do then you will fall in love with Tobias very hard fall from grace. (I can't say too much if you haven't seen it but let just say he does fall in love.)
3) Augustus Hill is captivating, if you love topics like social justice, racism, and social as well as economic disparities you get that and more. Philosophies on life, a different way to look at life. The different topics about life are enough to have you on edge but Augustus Hill is the single most captivating thing and he does it flawlessly and poetically. (If you don't know, he was kind of the narrator/ outside-inside observer)
4) You will never feel the same way about prison, the death penalty, and mental health in this country again. Seriously listen to Augustus, he breaks down the whole shabang. Like where the money is going and coming, the things the prisoners are deprived. How out country treats people with mental health and some ultimately begin their addiction in prison. Who should die and who should live.
5) Seriously, and don't laugh, Prison Love!!!! That all anybody remembers about Oz anyway.
6) Ryan O'Riely, soooo he is the Mayhem dude from the commercials but his character on Oz is much much more. We are talking Netflix "House of Cards" smart. He is one of thee most manipulative people on the show, he is underrated, underestimated and if you finish Oz you'll wonder why you haven't seen this actor in anything else. (If you haven't seen the original House of Cards or Netflix House of Cards, you're welcome from the recommendation. Boom!)
7) Tim McManus, that's all I'm going to say about him because you just need to watch him. He is the closest to us, the us who care, the us who love and want to help and the us that is kind of messed up and cant hold down a relationship because we're messed up.
8) Yeah it's not as funny as Orange is the New Black but it holds most of the basic principles, prisons house criminals but mostly people who are and have been disadvantage. White, Black, Asian, Latino, none of that matters but it means the whole world in prison because on the backbone its all you have to have camaraderie.
9) You will know what Tits mean. And oh how tits are like the craziest reference to drugs but very fitting.
10) Last come on!!!! It's a crime thriller, who doesn't love a good one of those!!!
