This Mom's Fearless Selfie Strikes Back At Anyone Who Says C-Sections Are The Easy Way Out

    Olivia White, 28, is an Australian blogger and mother of two who is getting a lot of attention for sharing this post C-section selfie.

    She was inspired to post the photo months later, though, after growing tired of seeing and hearing dismissive comments about C-sections.

    “I thought if I showed a real image of what it looks like post surgery and described it then it might change people’s perceptions.”

    White’s accompanying caption was both funny and brutally frank about what it’s really like to have a C-section.

    She wrote in part: “This is what you really look like a few hours post C-section 🗡 To anyone who thinks it's the easy way out, well, try having a 6-inch gash in your abdomen like a gutted shark 🦈 who had the body parts of the surfer 🏄🏼 it ate retrieved! That's then sewn back together with fishing wire while it feels like your vital organs are trying to escape!"

    She also added this very important point about the reality of C-sections: “I wouldn't change it! Because if it wasn't for the ability to deliver my babies 👶🏼 this way they might not be here today 🙌🏻 "

    White said the reaction to the Instagram has been overwhelmingly positive. “The number of women and even men who could relate to the post was insane. It garnered so many comments and shares, as well as many messages of support to my inbox!”
