7 Reasons Kamala Harris Is Awesome That Have Nothing To Do With Her Looks

Last week President Obama had to phone an awkward apology to California Attorney General Kamala Harris for listing her attractiveness among her professional accomplishments. Ms. Harris is no doubt a stunner, but there are many, many things more awesome and impressive about her.

1. She is California's first female, first African-American and first Asian American attorney general. She's also the first Indian American attorney general ever in the U.S.

2. As a lawyer for the Alameda County D.A., she focused on prosecuting child sex abusers.

3. As San Francisco D.A., she raised felony convictions to the highest rate in 12 years.

4. She's for marriage equality: refused to defend her state's Prop 8 to Supreme Court.

5. She's a published author.

6. She's just getting started.
