The powerful animations in the "Oh Canada" video recount the story of the Kurdi family's attempted journey from Syria to Canada to seek refuge.

The video was created by director Natasha Pincus, and animation director Nicholas Kallincos.

The video features illustrations by refugee and displaced children that were asked to share their experiences, fears and hopes for the future.

Higgins stated on her Facebook page that the song’s purpose is to “remind people of what happened” and that “they don’t deserve to be forgotten.”

The song is available with 100% of proceeds going to support the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC).
