I Tried The "Game Of Thrones" Dragon Egg Ice Cream, And Here's What Happened

Spoiler alert: We did not find dragons inside.

The last season of Game of Thrones is in full swing, and seemingly every retail entity in the world is releasing themed merchandise.

Even friggin' ice cream is getting in on the game. At Stuffed Ice Cream, an ice cream store based in New York City, owners Jackie Luu and Alan Yaung have crafted a limited run of ice cream shaped just like Daenerys' dragon eggs. 😯

I'll admit I'm not a die-hard fan of Game of Thrones, but I knew I had to try it, if only to figure out how the eggs are made.

When I first got the eggs, I realized, surprisingly, that they look exactly as advertised.

The eggs were pretty hard and needed a little time to defrost, but were ready to go after I got done snapping a few photos. The spicy chocolate egg tasted like a frozen hot chocolate sprinkled with cinnamon.

The eggs are a little awkward to eat because they're scooped and placed on a thin, plastic dome. But whatever 🤷🏼‍♀️, this scoop of Earl Grey was the closest ice cream version of the tea I had ever tried, and was delicious.

The Matcha Latte didn't have any dragons inside, but was my favorite and tasted refreshingly sweet.

If you're in the NYC area, you can purchase a set of dragon eggs for $35 until Friday, April 26 at Stuffed Ice Cream!
