5 Comic-Con 2013 Photo Op Tips

Follow these tips and you'll have a Facebook album full of priceless Comic-Con photos. (Passive glances at said album are guaranteed, but comments and likes are not.)

1. Don't Ever Look Under the Mask

Full-body costumes are ridiculously awesome. They show dedication, nerdiness, and a willingness to sweat for what you love.

That being said, whatever you do, don't look under the mask.

Ever.

Fuller disclosure: I snuck a peek at chubby Teen Wolf when he took off his mask to grab some air.

Fullest disclosure: He looked like he belonged on Megan's List, not at Comic-Con.

You'be been warned.

2. Always Ask for Permission with Kid Pictures

Comic-Con is ground zero for cute kids in costumes. If you think Halloween is good, then you've clearly never walked through the convention floor at Comic-Con.

It's ridiculous.

But you wouldn't creep a cute kid for a picture in real life, right? The answer is "no." If you answered "yes," then I know a man with a wolf costume who you might like to meet.

In all seriousness, make sure to ask before you snap a pic with a cute kid in costume! Most parents don't mind but they do appreciate you asking.

3. Take the Cheesy Prop Photos

Taking a picture inside a Star Wars action figure box or next to trolls from LOTR may look lame, but it's not.

Think about it: When will you ever take these types of pictures again? The answer is never.

Also, everyone else is doing it, so that makes it cool.

The displays on the convention floor make for some of the best photo ops, so take advantage of them.

Bonus points if you make people walk around you while you strike the perfect pose. Don't feel bad about doing so; they'd do the same to you...and worse.

4. Make Sure the Gang's All There

Those who go to Comic Con in group costumes are practically begging to take pictures with strangers.

Don’t take their pleas for “a break from photos” or their cries of “not now” seriously. Plop yourself in the middle of the all-Asian Avengers, the Ninja Turtles, or the Little People Justice League and snap away.

However, and this is important, make sure the group is complete.

Nothing is worse than taking a group photo only to realize later that someone was missing.

No one wants to see a framed photo of you and the Fantastic 3 or the Ninja Turtle.

5. Take Pictures with the Beautiful People

There are very few times in life when it’s acceptable to ask beautiful stranger for a quick picture.

Comic-Con is one of those times.

Ask every and any beautiful person in costume for a picture. The worst they can do is say "no." The best they can do is take a picture whose awesomeness will last until the next Comic-Con rolls around.

Bonus points if you grab a photo with a total hottie who isn’t in costume using the line, “I love your costume, can I get a picture?”
