Below are a few of the highlights from the ABC News exclusive interview.

Smith gave his thoughts on why diversity is important stating, "Diversity is the American superpower."

Will also laid to rest the rumors that the only reason his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, called for others to boycott the Oscars was because he was snubbed for his role in Concussion.

He also added that he was out of the country when Jada released her viral video calling out the Academy and had no idea that she'd done it until he returned.

He also will not be attending this year's Academy Awards.

Smith said, "We've discussed it and we're a part of this community but at this current time we're uncomfortable to stand there and say that this is okay."
