Labyrinth, The Lost Boys, Poltergeist and at least the first 3 Star Wars movies had novelizations after the movies. It feels like that was a thing in the 80s. Not sure if it's still done now.
Beautiful episode. I would pick Far Beyond the Stars or In the Pale Moonlight. Duet, The Wire, Improbable Cause/The Die is Cast and the whole Dominion war arc are excellent too. DS9 was some of the best television ever produced, IMO.
