49 Highly Useful Products You’ll Use All Spring And Summer Long

Don't click if you're OK with thigh chafing, goopy sunscreen that leaves a white cast, and mosquito bites everywhere.

    1. An inflatable pool so you can make your sunny dreams of relaxing in a pool with a glass of sweet tea a reality — even if you have a small backyard.

Promising review: "Good size. I'm 5'4 and I bought it for my 3-year-old and 2-year-old for the spring and summer. I didn't need anything huge; I have a nice size deck and we spend a lot of time on the deck so I wanted something big enough for them to have some wiggle room to keep cool but not too big so it wouldn't take up to much room. I also purchased an outdoor grass rug to put it on to protect the bottom of it and keep it from getting splinters (just a suggestion if you plan on using on the deck). It has a drain plug so cleaning and getting fresh water is not hard at all." —Majestic 0220

Get it from Amazon for $50.99.

    2. And a stunning ruffle V-neck one-piece to wear while you dip your toes in the pool.

    3. A set of anti-chafing thigh bands because hell hath no fury like a pair of angry, sweaty, chafing thighs.

Reviewer wearing the bands underneath a dress
    The lace bands in nude

Promising review: "Ladies, we can finally toss the deodorant...these things work! I was hella skeptical because my thighs are resistant to any sort of chub rub defense. I wore them while walking at least five hours at a music festival and they stayed put without me ever needing to adjust them! I couldn't believe it! My delicate inner thigh skin was preserved; not a chub-rub in sight and they're so feminine and romantic-looking that I didn't even care if someone caught a peek at that beautiful lace. Way sexier than my usual biker shorts. Love that I can wear dresses all day now without worrying about my thighs overheating." —OceanHips

Get them from Amazon for $18.95+ (available in women's sizes S–3XL and 17 styles).

    4. Or an anti-chafing balm for swiping anywhere your clothes rub. It creates a moisture-repelling layer on your skin (without ever feeling greasy!) that protects against blisters, irritation, and chafing when your running, hiking, biking, or just trying to exist in the world as a sweaty person.

Reviewer photo showing the balm does not leave behind a film on the skin

Promising review: "I am a lifelong curvy lady whose thighs have rubbed together since the beginning of time, probably, so I’m no stranger to chafing. This morning I applied the balm to my inner thighs under a sundress and spent a day walking around in the heat and sunshine; it was hot, and I was sweating, but miraculously, my thighs felt fine! I applied the balm at around 11:30 a.m. and as I write my review it’s almost 7:30 p.m. but my legs are going strong. Other parts of me have definitely reacted to being out and about but not my thighs — without this stuff, they would be pink and tender, but they feel soft and happy. I am absolutely impressed. Long story short, this stuff absolutely worked for me; I plan to buy a larger size when this smaller one runs out. Don’t be a doubter like I was!" —Gina

    5. lawn repair formula that'll regrow the grass that died over the winter so you have something to mow this spring! It's designed for reversing scorch marks from your pet's urine, damage from their digging, and wear in high traffic areas.

Promising review: "I used this in the spring to fill out our lawn more, and it worked great! I was worried because I feel like you always hear grass seed horror stories, but I just raked our lawn good, spread seeds all over, and watered it once (sometimes twice) per day and it filled the lawn in beautifully!" —Mariah

Get it from Amazon for $16.97+ (available in five sizes and four styles).

    6. A CeraVe salicylic acid body wash if warmer weather is causing your keratosis pilaris to flare up. It exfoliates without the harsh microbeads, erasing rough and bumpy skin while leaving behind moisturizing hyaluronic acid and calming niacinamide.

Promising review: "My 6-year-old daughter has keratosis pilaris, commonly known as 'chicken skin.' This year it really flared up during warm weather so I gave this wash along with lotion a try. Wow, I saw results after just a few uses and after a couple of weeks most of her bumps disappeared. Thrilled we skipped a trip to the dermatologist! Can’t beat this price for the results either." —Ashley Steigerwald

    7. A portable 100-inch movie screen so your family's outdoor movie night isn't ruined by the little one in the back whining, "I can't see the screen!" It's lightweight yet sturdy, large enough for everyone (and probably the neighbors) to see, and reviewers say setup takes mere minutes.

Promising review: "I love the size and the fact that it takes five minutes to set up and five minutes to take down. Very portable and lightweight to carry. Very sturdy. I would highly recommend." —Kathi

reviewer wearing a light tan hat with a black band
another reviewer wearing a darker tan hat

Promising review: "Extra satisfied with this purchase!! I ordered it for a trip to Florida. I wear hair extensions and was worried that it would be too small for my head but it fits perfectly. There is also a ribbon inside of the hat under the band that you can use to tighten/adjust if needed. Soft straw and flexible enough to mold to your head in the humidity and heat. I ordered the khaki color, which is perfect and neutral for any beach our outdoor vacation. I also purchased a few cute broaches to attach to the band to upgrade it a bit. It's easy to flatten out the brim if it gets wrinkled although I haven't had to adjust the top part of the hat yet. I was a little hesitant at first but so happy with this hat. Will def get good use out of it this summer." —Tlikey

    9. A pack of heel stoppers because trying to wear heals in grass, gravel, or dirt without tipping over, sinking into the ground, or destroying your shoes equals one word: impossible! Or at least it was before these guys came along.

They'll also prevent heels from getting caught in cracks in the sidewalk.

Elizabeth Lilly, a BuzzFeed editor, put these to the test as a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding after writing about them in a ton of shopping stories. Here's what she had to say:

"When my friend asked me to be a bridesmaid and I learned I'd be walking on grass for the ceremony, I got a bit worried. What's a klutz with a high center of gravity to do while trying not to 1) fall down in front of approximately 150 guests or 2) keel over while quietly stifling tears during her friends' vows? Buy some Heel Stoppers, that's what! I was able to easily slip them onto the glitter-encrusted heels (and later remove them with no damage to the heels).

On the day of the ceremony, these sturdy pieces of plastic made the heels much easier to walk in and prevented me from aerating the lawn. My feet still hurt to high heavens because those gorgeous shoes don't have a lot of support for a seldom-stiletto-wearer like me. Out of all the dough I spent on my bridesmaid ensemble, these were the biggest bang for my buck!"

Get it from Amazon for $11.99 (available in four sizes).

    10. A ~rawr-some~ pack of silicone dino ice pop molds for deliciously detailed sweet treats you can make with juice, yogurt, or smoothies. Because you can customize your at-home versions, you can skip all the added sugar of the store-bought versions (because no one wants the kiddos bouncing off the wall). And! They're cheaper than shelling out $5 for a SpongeBob ice pop when the ice cream truck rolls into your neighborhood.

Reviewer using Revlon oil-absorbing volcanic face roller

    12. A creamy paw butter if you want to protect your pet's precious toe beans from hot sidewalks. This balm moisturizes dry, cracked paws and snoots and is safe if licked or swallowed. #PROTECTTHEBEANS

Promising review: "One of my puppers is a super athlete who lives for walks and runs. She is about 9 now and the vet gave her a stellar bill of health save one thing: Her pads were getting really rough and worn from paved trails and city walks, and this may be uncomfortable, especially as summer comes and pavement heats up. I was skeptical about any kind of balm as I figured that it would leave a mess on my floors or one/both dogs would just lick it off their feet. No problems whatsoever, and after a single application, both dogs' pads are really soft and supple. Hopefully the dogs can feel the difference. I can surely see it and feel it. Also, the balm smells like oatmeal cookies, so bonus for that." —LRL

Get it from Amazon for $7.87.

I always thought it was bad lotions, lack of moisturizer or wearing socks for prolonged periods and I’ve tried EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYYYTHING to try and fix my feet. Hiding behind sneakers in the summer, packing lotion on or wearing socks to bed with my man is no longer needed. This product is NEEDED in your life. No bs. I’m obsessed and I want to order one for every one in my family with dry feet like me! DO NOT regret buying this. It was a steal!" —Natalie Gomez

    15. A bug bite suction tool because you're tired of becoming mosquito food when spring/summer rolls around. It's designed to actually suck out venom, saliva, and irritants on your skin that may be causing swelling and itching.

You can also use it to treat bites from bees, wasps, biting flies, no-see-ums, chiggers, and sea lice.

Promising review: "I ordered the Bug Bite Thing in December after watching the Shark Tank episode. I live in the Northeastern US and have not had to use it until the spring weather arrived. No matter what I do, bugs find me, and to compound it, I usually have an allergic reaction. I have tried numerous anti-itch creams and natural remedies through the years, which treat symptoms but not the root cause. I ordered the Bug Bite Thing with skepticism but am very pleasantly surprised. I had multiple bug bites that I tried this on and the itching and swelling dissipated immediately! It works and without chemicals. I highly recommend!" —HappyDaisy547

Promising review: "Our son was having a lot of dander on his back near the base of his tail. We kept up the brushing but it wasn't going away. Looking at the reviews I decided to go for the dander wipes. Well I have used it twice and was blown away. His dander is pretty much all gone now. Plus his hair seems shinier and silkier after his brushing and using the wipes. Not to mention our baby boy looks just like the cat on the packaging. All around I will continue to buy these and use once a week or twice every two weeks to keep up his beautiful orange coat. Thanks, Burt's Bees!" —Tom Cincotta

Promising review: "My dog loves these. We live in the south so allergies are pretty serious here. When spring came around I noticed he was constantly gnawing at his paw and wasn’t eating as much as he used to. I did some research and found this product. I was skeptical, as he’s kind of picky, but he is obsessed with them. He waits at the pantry door every morning for them. He thinks they are treats. I noticed — within hours — that he was no longer gnawing at his paw and his appetite was also back to normal. When he finished his first tube of these, I decided to wait to order more and see if they really worked or if his allergies just wore off. A few weeks went by and I noticed him gnawing at his paw again and not eating. I ordered them Sunday and he’s back on them again. He was so excited to see them again and is no longer gnawing at his paw :)" —Alyssa

Promising review: "Oh my god, I friggin' love this tool. I bought this on a whim given we bought our first house and know nothing about caring for a yard. Boy has it come in handy. Our new house had a ton of weeds in the front yard and this tool helped me get most of them out in no time. In fact, the process of yanking out the weeds was strangely satisfying! I don't think anyone can say that weeding is fun but this tool made it as close to fun as you can get, especially when you see a long root along with the weed you pulled." —JG

Promising review: "I have severe allergies during the spring and summer months and have tried everything from nettie pots to OTC allergy medicine to get some sort of relief. If you saw my trash cans they were full of used tissues and I was still constantly sneezing. I saw immediate results with the first few days. I use it at night in my bedroom I have the setting on '2,' which is at the medium setting. The noise level is not that bad; I can still hear the television and hold a normal conversation with my husband. The noise level tends to go away or blend once you get used to it. Promising review: "It’s pretty hard for me to find round glasses that fit my larger face without making me look like I’m part of the three blind mice, but these were perfect! I think these would work really well with smaller faces, too. They're a great pair of everyday glasses. The case is super sturdy and zips as well. It comes with a cloth to clean the lens. A lot of more expensive brands have flimsy cases. The polarization is great because it doesn’t distort color and reduces glare making it easier on your eyes, but iPhones also have this so together, it’ll make your screen look pretty weird. Besides that, amazing glasses." —Angela Cross

Promising review: "I'm 36 and have struggled with oily, acne-prone skin my whole life. Why did no one tell me about this sooner??? I use a kabuki brush (instead of the small velvet pad they provide) and spread a thin layer of powder all over my face after all other skincare products and before foundation. It literally keeps me shine free for my 18-hour work shifts! On especially hot and humid days, I'll reapply this *lightly* over my makeup halfway through the day. It also seems to have cleared up the smaller blemishes around my nose and chin! Hooray! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars." —Rebekah Zenn

Promising review: "I have gotten so many compliments on these overalls! I was looking for something comfortable and light enough to wear during the summer since I'm not a big fan of shorts. I'm pretty petite and it fits well and is just baggy enough. I love them so much I ordered another pair in blue!" —Cynthia Cahalen

Promising review: "I wanted to give this product 10 stars but was only limited to five :( This stuff is AMAZING!!!! I'm almost 30 and my face has become super oily — like I can fry chicken on it by the end of the day. So for months I've neglected wearing any kind of foundation or makeup in general. After reading reviews I figured I would give this a try. The glow it gives you is AWESOME!!! It makes my skin so soft. I'm probably going to wear just this and no foundation 50% of the time. After the Texas heat..and the sun..and amounts of sweat...my face was PERFECT......STILL! No oil...no smears...no pores... This is literally sent from heaven!!!! My ONLY dislike is the fact that you can't purchase this in 5-gallon buckets!" —Jessica

    38. An ear treatment to clean your poor pet's ears of buildup and prevent inflammation and irritation when their allergies blow up in the spring. These ear drops are designed to protect against a variety of fungal and bacterial infections, like yeast and staph infections.

Promising review: "We LOVE this product! Our labrador seems to get ear mites in the spring/summer and constantly shakes his ears, slinging slobber everywhere and even waking us up in the middle of night shaking his ears. This product absolutely works. No more vet visits to get ear mite treatment, no more waking up in the middle of the night, no more slobber slung in the oddest spots of the walls! Most importantly, he seems to really like this product. As soon as I use it, he truly seems relieved, which makes me feel good about this product. If you're in the endless cycle of ear mite vet visits, please give this a try and just see if it works for you!" —Valerie N.

Promising review: "To be honest I was super skeptical about this product because it isn’t a prescription from a vet’s office and my golden retriever gets really bad allergies and hot spots during the spring, so I’m used to spending the awful $100–$200 during an exam. This spray though...it works. I ordered and used this spray after my dog was treated at the vets for a hot spot on his neck area. Not only does it smell AMAZING but the aloe in it seems to just take away any itchiness! This spray immediately took down the redness and also seemed to soothe his skin that he stopped scratching and rubbing himself in the carpet. I did put it on him three to four times a day and it actually worked! I’ve recommended this to a couple of other dog moms as well. 10 stars if I could. Definitely worth it and significantly cheaper than a vet's bill!" —MGB123

    40. A 4-in-1 inflatable pool float for making pool time even more fun. But beware — it's so dang comfortable that you might want to buy two so you don't have to share!

Promising review: "Got this on a whim after reading some reviews. I didn't expect it to immediately become the fam's new favorite! Lay back and you are half in, half out of the water so you aren't baking from above or freezing below — just what we wanted. It holds your head well out of the water and feels very supportive/stable. I've had it for about a month now and only had to blow it up the first time, the plastic is fairly thick and doesn't lose air through seams or the nozzle. We have a full-body foam float that cost about $120 and it never gets used any more. Everybody takes turns on this one. Great deal for the price; I just bought three more of various colors. Go ahead and try it." —JB

    41. An instant stain remover spray that'll make your dirt-covered plastic patio furniture look new again. It actually works to remove the deep-set, below-the-surface stains so when you wipe away the cleaner, you're wiping away *all* the mess.

Promising review: "This was amazing. All I had to do was spray and wipe and the mold was gone. I used it in a house that had been sitting for six months and it was awful. I thought I would have to put elbow grease into it but NO not at all. I used it for the walls and ceilings. It left no streaks. Even for as bad as the mold was, I only had to clean it once. It has only been about a month now and the mold has not come back but even if it does it was soo easy to clean with this. Spring cleaning the walls is an annual chore, but I won’t cringe at the thought of having to figure out how to defeat it!! My only recommendation is to wear a really good mask as it is very strong stuff and I used it very generously. By the end of the room my lungs were seriously wishing I had worn a mask or opened a window or both." —Becky

Promising review: "Great product! I bought this for an upcoming summer hiking trip in Utah, but I have been using it for an aerobics class as a headband. I sweat on my head and it runs down into my eyes. Regular headbands get soaked too fast. This really works because it keeps my head cooler and when warms up, I simply drizzle more water on it from my spouted water bottle." —Lepmay

    46. A fast-absorbing K-beauty sunscreen for nongreasy sun protection that doesn't leave behind a white cast.

This is, without a doubt, my holy grail, all-time favorite sunscreen. In fact, I don't even want to share it with you because I worry about it being sold out — but sharing is caring and sun protection is très importante. This sunscreen feels more like a moisturizer in texture and absorbs quickly, giving skin a bouncy, dewy glow. All without leaving a white cast!

I have pretty oily skin but some dry patches on my face as well, and this product does a fan-freaking-tasting job of gliding over the dry skin without emphasizing flakes *and* moisturizing my oily forehead without making it look like an oil slick. I also love the addition of hyaluronic acid, which helps prevent skin dehydration (after all, you are about to let the sun bake your skin when you go outside).

It also offers protection from both UVB (that's what the SPF 50+ means) and some protection from UVA (that's what the PA++++ means). And for people who care (and TBH, people who don't care should listen up too because this is an important distinction), it is a chemical sunscreen, meaning the active ingredients absorb UV rays before they damage skin (unlike physical sunscreens where the ingredients create a physical barrier between your skin and UV rays).

Popped it into my hot tub and from the picture I attached, you can see that in just about 12 hours, this little Scumbug ate up all the oil and filth in the hot tub. The water not only looks better, but smells better too! Highly recommended!" —Mickey D.

It survived the weekly trash pickup. As for whether or not this device works: Let me tell you: NO FLIES, NO MAGGOTS!!! This product works well. before and after showing the mascara made their light lashes visible and lengthened
Reviewer showing off their fluffy, full-looking lashes

Promising review: "I have been a mascara snob my entire adult life, and have been purchasing the same two brands for mascara. Then, I decided to get an inexpensive tube of mascara just to have in my emergency makeup back, and WOW was I surprised! One coat of this stuff is better than four of five coats of my other stuff. It isn't waterproof, so it comes off with just a makeup-removing facial cleanser or micellar water with no problem. It separates and lengthens my lashes. I have people stop and ask me ALL THE TIME what I do to my eyelashes to make them 'look like that.' Like...literally stopped in the middle of a sidewalk in downtown Tampa to ask about my eyelashes. And it really does stay in place, even without a setting spray, when most of the other makeup I use melts off. Seriously Let me put this in perspective: I live in Florida, and I wore this mascara to work every single day for the last year in the heat/humidity (including all through the summer) and they stayed on my lashes better than any other brand of mascara I've used. This is now officially turned into my go-to mascara!" —Kate
