There's Free Shit Everywhere
This week I got to go to my precious, (yes, say it Gollum-like, only a little creepier and then boomtown, you'll have nailed an accurate impression of me and one day that might be worth money, so... You're welcome.) New York, The Big Apple, The Melting Pot, The Capital of the World, The 5 Bad B's - last one may be factually soggy, nonetheless I was there and it was glorious!
I went to see Google, which was the entire purpose of the trip. They are down on 111 8th Ave, so I strolled in early so as to take advantage of their rather abundant, extensive food-room. It's a "cafe," whereby all ting is FREE, with a plethora of foods and drink, split up into stations, neatly arranged around its sprawling expanse: There happened to be an omellete station, and excellent it was; there was a smoothie station, I liked two out of the three I gurgled down. The one with red pepper was not a friend of mine. In fact, it nearly blew my cover when I almost choked on the pesky throat irritant. To be clear, visitors, (HI, that's me,) aren't allowed into La Place Cafe, which is on some magical floor that I will forever visit in my dreams. There was also a coffee, which was pretty average, although the cakes stacked around said coffee (bar) were delightful. So anyway, I was there an hour early and I had time to sample all that Google offered to me. Then I slipped out, returned my visitor badge to it's rightful place, around my now considerably larger neck, and jaunted on over to the meeting room.
An affable looking team of Google's finest stood, smiles blazing, bad jokes galore. One guy, I think his name was Kevin, broke out into a JT dance midspeech, which I appeciated. I once was in a gym in Los Angeles with Justin Timberlake and I made a terrible joke about crying a river, and I was not invited to his upcoming Halloween party that fall, it was most depressing, although the trainer we shared at the time assured me that one bad joke wasn't the reason, it was more likely my persona. I'm still unsure exactly what he meant, but they should both know that What goes around, goes around, goes around, comes all the way back around.... There was also a genial, gentle giant at the Google meeting, whom could talk the pants straight off a fifty year old virgin in twenty seconds flat, by the name of Mark Woodland. He's quite funny so naturally I was unable to take down any of the information he was telling me lest I miss a well-timed joke.
To get to the point, I listened, they talked, I silently processed whether or not H.A.S was a fit for their new plan for world domination. I'm still thinking on it. But I'll keep you posted.
