In what’s being called the most controversial presidential campaign ad in U.S. history, a newly released Donald Trump radio spot (click to listen) compares the Republican Party’s attempt to rein in the defiant Trump to the tyrannical party rule of Nazi Germany. The ad, released Tuesday, Sep. 1 is a chilling reminder of what can happen if political parties become ends unto themselves, a spokesman for the group said Tuesday.

The ad, entitled “The Party,” features a somber, deep-voiced announcer who begins the spot with “Donald Trump has a message for his fellow party candidates who say he’s hurting The Party …” The ad continues with a warning that when political parties insist that members toe the party line and discourage divergent opinions, tyranny and despotism is the inevitable result. The ad is set to an undertone of blood-curdling ‘sieg heils’ recorded from the Nazi Nuremberg Rallies of the 1930s.

“Like Donald Trump, we created an ad that speaks the truth, political correctness be damned,” said David Leone, a member of ad hoc Trump support group out West Palm Beach that created the radio ad. “Both the Republican and Democratic Parties have become more Big Brotherish; forsaking democratic principles, demanding member loyalty even at the expense of free choice.”

The radio ad targets the GOP and Donald Trump’s fellow candidates, implying in no uncertain terms that the GOP – and by extension the Democrats – have exhibited dictatorial tendencies in their willingness to punish party members who break ranks with long-held party positions.

“The Donald Trump radio ad is a powerful indictment of the GOP,” said Bob Meahgan, a political analyst based in Los Angeles. “When you start comparing the GOP to a Nazi-esque model, there’s going to be some repercussions.”

Since his presidential campaign announcement last June, Donald Trump has taken the political world by storm, surging to the top of national polls. His brash, in your face, pull no punches style has struck a chord with the American people. With a disdain for political correctness and downright enmity for political games and foes, Donald Trump has rankled his fellow GOP candidates, all of whom are scrambling to steal even a shadow of the media spotlight Donald Trump has so masterfully dominated.
