The iPhone 6 Is Ripping Out Chunks Of People's Hair

Forget #bendgate; Apple has a new hair-raising controversy.

In the past few days, iPhone 6 customers have taken to social media, complaining that new phones are ripping out chunks of hair.

iPhone users are tweeting that hair is getting caught in the seam between the aluminum backing and glass screen.

My hair keeps getting caught in the microscopic seam between glass and aluminium on my iPhone 6

The complaint has already spawned a series of hashtags, including #hairgate, #beardgate, and #seamgate.

They clearly can't catch a break.. I wonder if testers were mainly bald guys.. - #HairGate #BendGate

The seam on my iPhone 6 where the aluminum meets the glass is definitely catching my hair and pulling it out. #seamgate

Congrats Apple, for finally getting hipsters to shave. #beardgate #hairgate

The hashtags were followed quickly by faux razor ads and movie parodies.

And at least one user has returned their phone after losing a few hairs.

@9to5Community My iPhone 6+ was pulling my hair too; I returned it, it was underwhelming:(

With #bendgate just dying down, Apple has yet to respond to its latest #problem.

It remains to be seen if the most recent controversy will slow sales. The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have already beaten the record for any smartphone's opening weekend.
