My bf and I have a combined income of $250K and we still have to worry every year whether we will be able to afford our rent come lease renewal. We currently live in jersey city, which has the 2nd highest rate of rent inflation in the country. We’ve seen rent go from $900 in 2019…Â
My boyfriend and I moved into a $3000 1 bedroom in jersey city in February. We didn’t get pandemic discounts or anything so we thought we’d be safe. But now all the units in our building are renting for $500-$1000 more a month and my boyfriend and I are worried we’re gonna get hit…Â
