    Twitter Is Changing 140-Character Tweet Length Rules

    Images and links will no longer count towards the 140-character limit. Users are rejoicing.

    Twitter has announced that it is overhauling its' 140-character limit rules.

    CEO Jack Dorsey announced the change on Twitter on May 24, linking to Twitter's official blog.

    A few simple changes to make conversations on Twitter easier! And no more removing characters for images or videos! https://t.co/7XjGN8k0p6

    Replies, images, videos, GIFs and links will no longer eat into the 140-character limit, and users are pretty happy about it.

    Users will also be able to retweet themselves under the new rules. This change has been met with mixed opinions.
