You might have Seasonal Affective disorder (SAD). SAD is very common and there are more than 3 million cases each year in the United States. SAD is a type of depression that directly relates to the season or weather. Melatonin can affect sleep patterns and mood when the balance is disrupted during the winter months. Most people who experience SAD get it around the same time every year, starting in the fall and continuing into the winter. There are ways to cure seasonal affective disorder such as light therapy, psychotherapy and medication. Talk to your doctor to learn more about it.
