Disney movies have gifted us with some of the best villains we love to hate, from the classic Maleficent and Jafar to the new guns like Prince Hans. As bad as these villains were, these movies also had their fair share of secondary characters that were, well, assholes — some of them almost worse than the main villains themselves.
15. Maximus, Tangled
Okay, so Maximus is a tricky one to put on this list, because he was really only an asshole for the first half of the movie. He relentlessly tried to capture and kill Flynn. He redeemed himself later, but it's still kind of hard to forget his actions toward the handsome Flynn Rider.
Worst moment: Trying to kill and capture Flynn over and over and over again.
14. Chef Louis, The Little Mermaid
Chef Louis makes this list because he tried to kill our beloved Sebastian the crab. Sure, he was only trying to do his job, and how was he to know Sebastian was no ordinary crab?! Still though, it's hard to like any character that tries to kill our favorite Disney crustacean.
Worst moment: Trying to kill Sebastian, obv!
13. Iago, Aladdin
Iago is one of the rare asshole characters that was actually kind of enjoyable, so you found yourself rooting for him. He was Jafar's sarcastic sidekick that helped him carry out his evil plans.
Worst moment: Force-feeding crackers to the captive Sultan.
12. Duke of Weselton, Frozen
The Duke of Weselton was a coward, was greedy, and overreacted about many things. His only goal was to gain more wealth, and he had a severe hatred for magic, which led him to send his guards to kill Elsa. He also opposed the one nice thing Hans did — giving out warm clothing and blankets to the people — because he wanted to trade those goods for wealth.
Worst moment: Trying to have Elsa assassinated. Rude.
11. Lawrence, The Princess and the Frog
Yes, Prince Naveen wasn't the world's best employer — he was lazy, didn't ever listen to Lawrence, and usually ended up embarrassing him. That being said, Lawrence conspired against Naveen, which resulted in him almost being killed. He showed some remorse and we learned he had an abusive past, but it was still a dick move to take it all out on Naveen.
Worst moment: Conspiring with Dr. Facilier to marry Charlotte, kill Big Daddy, and take all his money.
10. Razoul, Aladdin
Razoul was the head guard that ruthlessly and tirelessly tried to capture Aladdin. Yes, he was just doing his job and obeying orders, but he took far too much joy in this for us to like him.
Worst moment: When he tried to murder Aladdin.
9. Monsieur D'Arque, Beauty and the Beast
Monsieur D'Arque was a greedy asshole that took far too much pleasure in the thought of locking people up in an asylum. Not only was he down to lock up Belle's father because she wouldn't marry Gaston, but he loved the plan.
Worst moment: That look of joy he had about locking up an innocent man.
8. LeFou, Beauty and the Beast
LeFou was Gaston's dumb sidekick that was consistently abused by him, yet still blindly followed and worshipped him. He was one of the few people that tried to persuade Gaston not to marry Belle, but then proceeded to try any trick in the book to get Belle to marry him.
Worst moment: Tricking Belle's dad into talking about the Beast and making him look crazy.
7. Flotsam and Jetsam, The Little Mermaid
Flotsam and Jetsam were the evil eel henchmen of Ursula. They did the evil bidding for Ursula, and their presence was infuriating — especially since they prevented Ariel from kissing Eric.
Worst moment: Preventing the kiss between Ariel and Eric that we all wanted so desperately.
6. Diablo, Sleeping Beauty
Diablo was the evil crow of Maleficent. He was incredibly loyal to her, and was the one that ultimately found Princess Aurora and gave her location to Maleficent.
Worst moment: Telling Maleficent where Aurora was, leading to Prince Phillip's capture.
5. The Stabbington Brothers, Tangled
The Stabbington Brothers were the guys that Flynn betrayed, so it's understandable as to why they tried to track him down. What made them assholes, though, was teaming up with the obviously evil and vile Mother Gothel. Instead of just taking back the crown, they decided to kidnap Rapunzel instead.
Worst moment: Breaking Rapunzel's heart by telling her that Flynn abandoned her.
4. The Matchmaker, Mulan
The Matchmaker in Mulan was almost worse than Shan-Yu. She was rude and rigidly enforced patriarchal ideas (even though it was a different time). Who didn't cheer a little when Mulan's clumsiness took the Matchmaker down a peg or two?!
Worst moment: Telling Mulan she would never bring her family honor. Low blow, lady.
3. Lucifer, Cinderella
How could a cat named after the devil not be an asshole? Lucifer was the absolute worst. Not only did he try to capture and kill the mice, but he also was super manipulative and got poor Bruno in trouble by pretending he got hurt. Lucifer never missed an opportunity to get Cinderella in trouble, which only added to her hardship, and was an especially asshole move considering she was always kind to him.
Worst moment: Getting Bruno the dog in trouble by pretending he got scratched.
2. Chi-Fu, Mulan
Chi-Fu was pompous, condescending, and acted like he had a calligraphy brush stuck up his butt. Not only did he have no faith in Shang, he consistently showed his distain for women and believed they were below men. He was probably just overcompensating for his own feebleness but when he revealed Mulan to be a woman — especially after Mulan just saved his ass.
Worst moment: When he says "You will do well to teach your daughter to hold her tongue in a man's presence."
1. Prince Achmed, Aladdin
Prince Achmed was the asshole prince who tried to win over Princess Jasmine. He was a pompous asshole that insulted Aladdin and tried to hit children. It was iconic when Aladdin said, "It's not everyday you see a horse when two rear ends," something that definitely went over our heads as children.
Worst moment: When he tried to whip children that accidentally ran into his horse just because they were poor.
