1. Moving to a new place where nobody knows you is f*****g lonely... at first.
2. Making friends takes time... but if you find yourself... you'll find the best people you never thought you'd know... A melting pot of intelligent, mindful, and culturally smart people that I can now call my family.
3. Nobody gives a s**t what you're wearing... Northface, Rainbow flip-flops, and Polo everything do not matter.
4.Hold close to your family, they will love you no matter where you are and what you do.
5.Don't be afraid to ask for help.. whether you need directions from the stranger walking down the street, or a bit of financial support from your mom and pop.
6.When you go back home for a visit, you find that everything was just as you left it... and it's perfect and boring all at once.
7.MUSIC is LIFE. There's something about seeing a Flume show... a sea of people moving to the same rhythm in COMPLETE unison... bliss. AND don't even get me started on a Lorde show......don't even.
8.It's true what they say.. when you live on the beach.. you never go to the beach.
9.Having a good landlord can be the difference between a happy home and a sh*thole.
10.Getting a college degree is not necessary.. but it does look nice on paper..
11. Skateboarding alongside the ocean is one of the most therapeutic and relaxing tasks one can do.
12. Tattoos CAN come off.. but it hurts like h*ll.
13. Going from a long-distance (9,358 mi to be exact) relationship to living in the same apartment is not an easy task. You have to get-to-know one another all over again.. but it's worth it.
14. When you seek opportunities, great things happen to you...and your career may finally begin.
15. You are not invincible and emergencies can happen.. sometimes an ovary just wants to come out, ya know? (Ps kids- your parents will absolutely lose their mind... make sure you have a partner to call and keep them updated when morphine is present.)

17. Be open-minded... that girl on the street walking around with no shoes, dirty dreadlocks, a lizard in her hands and a cockatoo on her shoulder has more insight than any philosophy book you'll ever read in school.
18. Find yourself a mentor.. and listen to everything he/she says... they know what they're talking about (most of the time ;) )
19. Age is just a number.... you learn it in yourself and in others.
20. Obama is a big f*****g deal.
21.Stop wasting electricity... and start recycling.
22. People are the same.. no matter what religion, race, sex, or ethnic background... That's why we are called HUMAN. Smile and they smile back (usually).
23. Money can disappear quickly... be diligent with your funds.
24. When times seem at their worst.... if you are one with yourself and believe life will get better... it will.
25. Be thankful and practice gratitude daily.
26. The world isn't as big as it used to be... save your money, buy a flight, and experience life.
