Yes, hello! Welcome to the 476th post about Taylor Swift's new song/music video "Look What You Made You Do."
There's good reason, though, because there's so much happening and an insane amount of detail so people will probably be uncovering new things about this music video/song for the next 27 years!
However, this is about one specific lyric in the song. The part that everyone either hates, loves, loves to hate, or hates loving!
It's when she says this:
YOU KNOW THAT LINE!!! It's become more famous than the Pledge of Allegiance!
And at first everyone thought one thing: that past Taylor was dead, and she had entered this new goth/dark era. Like this:
But then I saw this post on Tumblr, and I was...rattletrapped! Okay, remember this mural, painted shortly after Kim exposed Taylor last year? (Also if you don't know what I'm talking about, look it up because I don't have time to explain.)
Someone on Tumblr made a very good point that I didn't even think about because I'm dumb:
They said, "Alright you guys now, bear with me, what if, maybe, just maybe, Taylor saying “the old Taylor is dead” isn’t her entering her hot topic edgelord phase but is instead a reference to THIS joke everyone spread last year?"
