I Followed Kendall Jenner's Tips For Taking The Perfect Mirror Pic

And...I think it worked!

Posted on

Hi. I'm Lauren, and I never take selfies because I hate ’em!!!! They are just not me!! But Kendall Jenner loves selfies. And today she wrote up a list of tips to help take the perfect mirror selfie.

Kendall Vs. Me.

Here's the list!

Mirror selfies are so fun to take, especially when you have a great outfit on. Below are seven tricks to spice your pictures up.

1. A tight crop keeps things interesting and a little mysterious.

2. Look into your phone instead of the mirror.

3. Popping one leg out will make you appear taller — and a pair of amazing shoes doesn't hurt.

4. If the frame is pretty, fit it into the pic!

5. Grab a friend! It's even better when you're both taking pictures at the same time.

6. If it's all about the outfit and your head isn't showing, keep your phone at chest height and point it down for the perfect angle.

7. Sneak yourself into the photo. A mirror selfie doesn't always have to be obviously all you. It's fun if your followers have to find you in the frame!

Seems simple! So I decided to try them out myself.

This is me before Kendall's tips: HIDEOUS AND BAD.

And now this is me following her tips.

Tip #1: "A tight crop keeps things interesting and a little mysterious."

Originally I thought she meant crop top, which I was upset about. Then I realized she meant a tight shot. This is what happened when I did the tight crop. It was good.

Me

But I felt that tighter was even better. I wanted you to see the moth holes in my shirt more clearly.

Tip #2: "Look into your phone instead of the mirror."

This is me looking into the mirror. BAD. EW.

Me

This is me looking into my phone instead. Hmmm. Interesting!

Tip #3: "Popping one leg out will make you appear taller — and a pair of amazing shoes doesn't hurt."

So I popped! And yes, those are my very amazing Vans!

Me

But I wasn't sure I popped "right." So I tried different variations of popping. I thought this was a winner.

Me

But this one was good too!

Me

In the end I felt stiffly lifting my right foot 1 inch off the ground was best.

Tip #4: "If the frame is pretty, fit it into the pic!"

This frame is a nice basic white frame that looks like Ikea. Idk, BuzzFeed bought it.

Me

Tip #5: "Grab a friend! It's even better when you're both taking pictures at the same time."

Unfortunately I don't have any friends :(.

Me

Tip #6: "If it's all about the outfit and your head isn't showing, keep your phone at chest height and point it down for the perfect angle."

The result shocked me, as I think I look stunning in this pic!

Me

Tip #7: "Sneak yourself into the photo. A mirror selfie doesn't always have to be obviously all you. It's fun if your followers have to find you in the frame!"

At first I was like, this won't look good. But then I realized the less you saw of me the better.

Me

I was getting the hang of things.

Me

The tips were working!!

Me

I WAS BECOMING A NATURAL.

Me

In the end, I think I ended up taking the ~perfect~ selfie, thanks to Kendall Jenner. I even Instagrammed it because I believe it is the best selfie I'll ever take! Tbh I'll prob delete it.

It's been up for 20 minutes and has five likes, so I think everyone else agrees!!!

Anyway thanks for looking at all of these pictures of me. This was actually an exercise my therapist wanted me to complete.
