21 Struggles Of Being The Sarcastic Person In Your Friend Group

    Oh yeah, nice one.

    1. You're never going to be the most excitable person in your friend group.

    2. Especially since you can only express actual excitement with sarcasm. It can be confusing for your friends.

    3. There's nothing better than joking with someone else who's just as sarcastic as you, however.

    4. And you always seem to feel better immediately after saying something sarcastic.

    5. In fact, you're sarcastic so frequently that you often don't even realise you're doing it, and at this point your friends aren't even sure.

    6. Which means you're always the one who has to explain exactly when you are being serious.

    7. And to be honest, you're probably never serious – you're not exactly the person your friends come to for advice.

    8. You just find it really hard to really get involved in their struggles, so they'll probably get some tough love.

    9. Explaining that you were being sarcastic is basically a daily occurrence for you.

    10. For some people in your friend group, you find it easier to just end all your sentences with "JK!"

    11. It's a particular problem when someone new gets introduced to the group, because you really struggle to hide it if you do dislike them.

    12. And for those new people, your friends will probably describe your sense of humour as an "acquired taste".

    13. You often worry that you're actually ridiculing people way more than you mean to.

    14. Some people will tell you that you have an "attitude problem", but your friends will...well, they'll tell you that you probably do as well.

    15. Sarcasm is your primary, hell, only way of dealing with emotions.

    16. Your friends can't even compliment you because you are TERRIBLE at taking compliments.

    17. That one friend who doesn't get sarcasm is always a problem.

    18. When your friends ask you what you actually feel about something, it's really hard to express.

    19. Everyone in your friend group has called you out for fake laughing at least once.

    20. Every now and again, you get scared that none of your friends actually find you funny.

    21. But damnit, the real problem is that no one in your friend group is even close to being as funny as you.
