In 2012, Frank Ocean released Channel Orange, his debut studio album. It was quite good.
No, hang on, not "quite good", the other one. An absolute goddamn masterpiece, that's it.
It was named the best album of 2012 by (deep breath) The A.V. Club, Billboard, Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Tribune, Consequence of Sound, Entertainment Weekly, The Guardian, Los Angeles Times, musicOMH, The Sydney Morning Herald, Now, Paste, PopMatters, Slant Magazine, Spin, The Washington Post, and Jon Pareles of The New York Times. But that was a long time ago, and fans desperately want more.
Then, after three long years, Frank finally posted on his Tumblr that the album would be coming out in July 2015.
Briefly, there could be happiness.
But July is nearly over, there's no album, and people are, with good reason, getting pretty fucking stressed.
People want to know where it is.
He doesn't seem to be worried, BUT WE NEED THE ALBUM DAMMIT.
But we. Need. Answers.
And now, people are starting to worry about the character of the man.
After all, he is letting everyone down. So massively. So comprehensively.
And it is upsetting.
There were rumours, so many rumours. IT'S COMING OUT ON THE 19TH!
IT'S COMING OUT ON THE 21ST!
IT'S COMING OUT ON THE 23RD!
Other fears are growing.
What if, what if, what if...
WHAT IF, WHAT IF, WHAT IF...
The days are ticking away, and there's still no album.
It's so late. It's taken so long. It's time. We need this. And yet...
