1. Sid and Nancy

This is, by far, the most punk episode of all. More than Ramones one. In this episode Marge and Homer got stuck in a tunnel of love and start telling love histories. One of them was about the infamous couple Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen. In this one, you can hear punk bands like Buzzcocks and The Damned. And there’s other references to punk here. They talk about CBGBs and Captain Sensible and Dave Vanian (from The Damned) appear in a crowd.

2. Bad Company

In a snow day, Homer has to drive to school to help the kids and Flanders goes with him. The radio plays “Feel Like Making Love” of Bad Company and Homer tells Flanders he wrote the song.

3. Blue Oyster Cult

Bart and Milhouse are arrested for driving a police car. Homer explains that he abandoned both in the street because he wanted to win some prize from a radio station. The prize was 40 dollars and a Blue Oyster Cult medallion. The music “Don’t Fear the Reaper” by them is in the ending credits.

4. Donovan

Donovan's music appeared three times in the show. “Wear Your Love Like Heaven” is played in the episode Homer smokes marijuana. In another episode, when Lisa turns wiccan, “Season of The Witch” is in the ending credits. Then, in an episode which Moe pretends to be gay, you can hear “Jennifer Juniper”.

5. Smashing Pumpkins

The episode where Homer works for a music festival called "Hullabalooza" count with great bands like Sonic Youth. A small part of a Smashing Pumpkins show is seen and the band plays "Zero". And no, Billy Corgan was not bald yet.
