10 Spectacles That Traverse City Loves

I've been all over the world, and there is no place that loves a spectacle more than my hometown of Traverse City Michigan... Not even the Ancient Romans could step to our spectacle-loving ability... here are the top 10 that get our community out every time.

10. Cherry Festival

While this has turned into something more for fudgies than natives, it wouldn't exist without our love for community events.

9. Cherry Drop

What other town would turn out in a blizzard to watch a cherry drop at midnight?

8. Summer Traffic

We complain, but it gives us something to complain about... plus it pays the rent

7. Ice Caves

While most people cower in fear of miles of giant walls of ice on frozen lakes; the good people of Traverse City say "Let's grab the kids and go exploring!"

6. High School Musicals

Traverse City's public high schools are home to some of the best music departments in the country. We always turn out to watch them perform Broadway hits.

5. Film Festival

Outdoor movies in beautiful summer weather. What could be more 'Traverse City' than that?

4. Friday Night Live

A bunch of entertainment on a closed-down Front Street. Of course the whole town turns out for it.

3. High School Sports

We love football more than Texas.

2. Internet Elections

If there is an election on the internet, be it ice cream, beautiful places, or saving a historic drive-in theater; you can bet we will turn out for it.

1. Primary Elections
