Anxieties Of "Global Terrorism" - As Early As 1791
This is an essay I wrote for my ‘Race, Ethnicity, Migration, and Nationalism’ class at University College Cork while studying abroad, drawing parallels between the tactics of Napoleon Bonaparte during the Haitian Revolution of 1791 and current U.S. President Donald J. Trump. In times of uncertainty, one must look to the past to ground themselves. Finding concrete parallels between Trump's horrendous policies and the actions of the dictators before him will solidify his place on the wrong side of history. A Works Cited with relevant sources follows.
