Foreign accents, jovial greetings and observational comedy are all part of his daily public announcement repertoire.
Meet Matt Dawson, fundraiser, ice hockey nut and wisecracking train manager.
For the past 15 years Matty Midland, as he is affectionately known on Twitter, has been working on the London St Pancras to Sheffield East Midlands train line in the UK.
Passengers on his route are entertained with comical announcements about the broken air con in the "tropical carriages" and the delights of "sunny Derbados", also known as Derby train station.
As part of his daily routine he always makes sure customers receive helpful safety messages.
And now commuters, who usually spend their time complaining about crap train services, are taking to Twitter to praise "comedian" Matt who brightens up their day.
Customers are so tickled by Matt's amusing announcements that it puts them right off their work.
And they are even demanding that he gets a pay rise.
Or at least wins an award.
Sheffield born and bred Matt is best loved for trending catchphrase "on it like a car bonnet" and for his slightly dodgy Irish accent.
Fans are now desperate to know which train he is managing.
And even take selfies with him, such is his growing celebrity status.
Which is not surprising when he responds to friendly tweets by inviting passengers to First Class.
He has even inspired his passengers to compose poetry.
Which probably makes him the best train manager in the world.
