U.S Tourists Help Save Five Refugees

While on their sailboat, an American couple headed for Greece helped save five young Syrian refugees that were floating in the middle of the sea. Shivering cold, starving and scared this husband and wife couple nursed them back to good health and brought them to the shores of Greece.

My mom and step-father were on a sailboat that was docked in Turkey headed for Greece. On their journey in the middle of the ocean they came across five Syrian / Palestinian refugees floating in the very cold water. These five young men, between the ages of 19 -25 were so hungry,scared and on their last legs. My step father, who is 66, hoisted these men one by one onto their boat: fed them, heard their stories, gave dry clothes and unconditional warmth from their hearts. I could not be more proud of the kindness they showed; it could not have been easy knowing in the back of their mind that if they were caught they would be thrown in jail for helping. Also, it was courage to trust these five young men to not steal in the desperate stage they all were in. They made it to shore of a Greek island with zero troubles.This is love. This is humanity.
