What My Mother Has Taught Me

My mother, Karyn Schorr, is one of a kind. She is the most important person in my life and all that I am or hope to be I owe to her. Here are just a few of the valuable lessons she has taught me throughout the years.

You are never too old to love Disney World

    Broadway can change your life

Anything with fur should be loved and cherished

All you need is faith, trust, and a little pixie dust

Admit to your mistakes because you can always learn from them

    Appreciate everything you have

Laugh as much as you possibly can

    ...And then laugh some more

Dance like no one is watching

Music is the key to the soul

You have the power to overcome any obstacles in your way

Never be afraid to ask for help

Learn to accept and live with your imperfections

Go to the museum even if you don't want to because you'll always learn something you didn't know before

Be generous, caring, and loving to everyone and everything

    Give lots of hugs

There is no such thing as having too much fun

Spend time traveling and seeing the world

Therapy is a good thing...a really good thing

    Support equal rights

Be kind to others because you don't know what battles they are facing

You are never too old to need your mom

    Never forget where home is

    All feelings are VALID

Fight for what you believe in & be the change you wish to see in the world

And always live life to its fullest

    Thank you mommy

Thank you for teaching me all these life lessons. Thank you for your dedication, your hardwork, and your love. I will always admire your strength, tenacity, humor, and silliness. And I aspire to be the kind of mom you are when I have kids. Happy Mother's Day!
