13 TIMES YOU DIDN'T NOTICE LIGHT SHINING THROUGH SOMEONE'S EAR ON THE WEST WING

Sure the acting was sublime, the dialogue was rich, and the stories were deeply compelling-- but did you ever notice the glowing ears? Once you do, you'll never miss one again. Heres a list of thirteen moments when lighting on the West Wing made someone's ear glow like ET's finger:

The time Toby shared a 'bright' idea with Josh in his office.

The time Leo gave President Bartlet bad news over the phone.

The time Donna met this dashing photographer on a diplomatic trip to Gaza.

The time National Security Advisor Nancy McNally visited the Swiss Embassy to discuss Iran's nuclear program.

The time we were treated to a rare double-ear-glow when this eco-conscious Prius-driver lectured Josh on fuel economy.

Here's one of Toby agonizing over the President's State of the Union speech.

How about this politically savvy high school student listening to Abbey Bartlet's thoughts on keeping America safe after 9/11.

Or the time Toby dipped into his office for a meeting in the middle of a state dinner.

Even the creepy white supremacist who signaled the gunmen at Rosslyn got his ear-glow on.

Who can forget the time Leo got an 'earful' from Congressional Democrats about President Bartlet's M.S. diagnosis.

Then there was the time Toby waited impatiently for C.J. to finish her sentence, so he could start talking again.

Here we see light poking through the ear of Dr. Milkman, as he offers C.J. a bizarre conspiracy theory.

And we round out the list with the West Wing's undisputed champion of ear-glow, Toby, as he admits that press conferences are harder than they look.

There you have it. Thirteen priceless moments of ear-glow that you missed the first, second, or third time around. Of course, if you have an eye for ears, you can probably find a few more that didn't make the cut-- as if you needed another reason to get back into the West Wing...
