Jeremy Corbyn - Best Moments

Jeremy Corbyn is now 9 months into his job as Labour leader, and now a wave of resignations has ensued, with calls to resign. Here are a few lighter moments for Jezza so far.

1. The time he misread the autocue at one of his first major speeches as leader.

Lesson to self: when someone writes "Stong message here" in brackets, in the middle of a speech, don't trip yourself up, by including it in the speech! Jeremy Corbyn managed to recover from this slip-up, by saying those 3 words in as hushed a voice as humanly possible.

2. That time when he changed the way of doing PMQs

Jeremy garnered much praise from many, for changing the tone of PMQs at the start of his tenure. Instead of encouraging noises akin to farmyard animals, Mr Corbyn introduced the habit of asking questions sent directly from supporters via email. This immediately allowed Mr Corbyn to avoid having to enter into personalised slanging matches with the Prime Minister.

3. The time when he helped cause the governent's tax credits U-turn

Mr Corbyn scored an early victory in his leadership, by succeeding in defeating a government-led plan to reduce working tax credits in late 2015. With the help of peers in the House of Lords, Mr Corbyn was able to block the move, which dented Mr Cameron's plans for reducing benefits on low-income families.

4. That time he boosted party membership

Much to the chagrin of people opposed to his candidacy, Jeremy helped boost the party's ailing membership, by introducing thousands of new members to the party overnight, upon being elected leader. Many of these new joiners are new young voters.
