This Awesome Guy Ran Into A Hail Storm To Save A Pigeon In Calgary

    You do you, Calgary.

On Tuesday evening, hell unleashed its sodden, icy fury upon Calgary.

But, just as we saw in the big flood of 2013, Calgarians don't cower in the face of mother nature's fury — they rise to the occasion.

VERY cool photo. Big tip of the cap to all the first responders yesterday! Nice work, #yyc! #abstorm

Like in this small but heartwarming moment. Reddit user YanTing Lau shared these photos of a man running into the middle of a hail-stewn 4 Ave. SW.

He returned to the shelter of an awning with something in his hands, but what was it?

A rather damp looking pigeon now bundled up in a warm towel.

Lau told BuzzFeed Canada he was walking towards Chinatown shortly before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday evening amid pouring rain and hail when he spotted the good samaritan.

"All the cars were stopped, trying to hide where ever they could, then I see a guy running out into the road to rescue a pigeon!" he said.

"I had to get closer, see how the bird was doing and thank him for doing that, he's a good guy!"

    Stay kind, Calgary.
