Canada Has Politely Asked Americans To Please Stop Bringing Their Guns Here

Oh my god, how many times do we have to tell you?

Hey, America. We get it. You like guns. Second amendment pew pew and all that. But could you leave them at home like one time?

    #PacHwy District in #BC saw a 116% increase of gun seizures in 2016 compared to 2015. #Leaveyourhandgunsathome

The Canadian Border Services Agency has started a campaign to remind Americans that while they're very welcome to visit Canada, their guns are not.

Two men from Texas failed to declare their firearms while crossing into New Brunswick. The guns were subsequently seized, destroyed, and the men were sent packing with hefty fines.

Both men happened to be from the Dallas area, were in their 50s, and were travelling with their wives. However, it was two separate incidents, according to the Canadian Press.

The CBSA tweeted that a single crossing point in Alberta seized 39 guns in 2015. This year, they've already seized 29.

Last year, officers in #Coutts #AB seized 39 guns, the most in Western Canada. We have seized 29 this year so far.

While you can bring guns into Canada by following certain rules, the CBSA recommends just leaving them at home.

So, seriously. Put them away. Enjoy a gun-free time in Canada. Because we have dogs, and excessively long hashtags, and we will find you.
