Miley Cyrus Visited B.C. And Said It Was The Best Day Of Her Life

"I knew in my heart that the wolf cull was wrong."

Miley Cyrus spent the weekend in B.C.'s Great Bear Rainforest with a group of scientists and First Nation members in support of a movement to end the province's wolf cull.

Photos of the pop star were shared by Spirit Bear Adventures, a wilderness tour company in Klemtu, home of the Kitasoo/Xai’Xais First Nation.

During the two-day trip Cyrus and her brother Braison chatted with ecologists and explored the rainforest, home to wolves, salmon and caribou.

    And, of course, bears.

In a video produced by Pacific Wild, Cyrus said that while it's "ridiculous" that she's a pop star, her work means she can lend a voice to initiatives like this.

Ian McAllister, co-founder and director of Pacific Wild, told BuzzFeed Canada they reached out to Cyrus after she spoke out against B.C.'s wolf cull to her social media followers.

"Miley said more than once that it was the best day of her life," said McAllister.

Despite opposition from groups like Pacific Wild, the B.C. government is looking to increase the number of wolves killed this winter.

“When I first spoke out, I knew in my heart that the wolf cull was wrong,” said Cyrus, in a statement released by Pacific Wild.
