Winter is quickly approaching which has many wander-lusty souls thinking about going anywhere that's warmer. Here are some of the best tropical vacations spots to visit while the snow is falling this winter.
This 'twin' island lies in between the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean sea, making it the perfect place if you're looking for white sand beaches and crystal blue waters.
Another 'twin' island located in the Caribbean Sea, Trinidad and Tobago is located just off the coast of Venezuela. Now that's a view to have while soaking in the pool and sipping on some cocktails!
While most have heard of Mexican hotspots like Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta, Cozumel and Cancun, Isla Mujeres is a little known island technically part of Mexico. Just off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula near Cancun, this island makes the perfect tropical destination away from the spring breakers typically vacationing in Mexico.
If an eco-vacation is more your style, try Panama, visit the rainforest and stay in one of these water bungalows. Don't forget to make a stop at the Panama canal, of course.
If you do decide rainforests are your thing, an even better place to visit for you eco-people is Costa Rica, famous for its endless rainforests. Your stay wouldn't be complete without hiking and bungalow living high up in the trees.
If mountainous terrain and volcanoes are your thing, St. Lucia might be just the place for you! Part of the lesser Antilles in the Caribbean, St. Lucia is surrounded by other islands like Barbados and Martinique.
If you're willing to trade off beaches for beautiful scenery like this, head over to Portugal to visit the breathtaking island of São Miguel. It's located in the Portugese Archipelago of the Azores islands and is the eastern most island of the group. With this kind of scenery, it only makes sense that the island is nicknamed "The Green Island".
When you hear about the South of France, typically Nice and Marseille are listed as highlights of the area. If you're looking to change it up on your next trip to France, Sark is a small remote island located in the Southwestern English Channel just off the coast near Normandy.
Croatia as a vacation spot has been becoming more and more popular, specifically Dubrovnik. But, have you heard of the remote island Korčula located in the Adriatic Sea just off the Dalmation coast? A mountainous, sea town this place is not lacking in beautiful things to look at.
Rounding out our list of the best tropical spots is the island of Taha’a. It can be found in the French Polynesian chain of islands mostly known for the very popular Bora Bora. In fact, the island is only accessible by helicopter from Bora Bora. Nicknamed "The Vanilla Island", Taha’a is known for its vanilla plantations and the beautiful beaches and luxurious accommodations make it the perfect low-key vacation spot.
Yeah Teresa...we're "outdoorsy" too.
Happy travels!!!
