“I Was So Jealous, I Cried My Eyes Out”: The Jonas Brothers Opened Up About Losing Jobs To Each Other

Kevin Jonas recalled being happy for his brothers' solo careers, but jealous at the same time. He said, "I was definitely like, 'I'm so happy this is happening...for one of us. But I wish it was the three of us.'"

So, you know the Jonas Brothers.

And chances are you've probably been a fan since waaaay before they got the band back together — like, I'm talking Disney Channel days.

The true JoBro fans know that the band originally split up back in 2013 due to a "rift," and the brothers each went on to work on solo projects.

Now, a decade after their initial split, they've been able to open up about what it was like growing up in a band with their siblings, how they deal with jealousy, and even auditioning for the same roles.

On Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, the band was asked what it was like to constantly be compared to each other, and Nick began saying, "We always say we want someone with the last name Jonas to win."

"We've never talked about this publicly, but we both auditioned for the same role — Joe and I," Nick said. "It was for Wicked, actually."

While that seems all well and good, Kevin actually chimed in about feeling "jealous" of his brothers' solo success while trying to show them support.

"I felt some of that, when they were doing their solo projects. I was definitely like, 'I'm so happy this is happening...for one of us. But I wish it was the three of us,'" said Kevin.

Then, Joe chimed in about his experience losing a job to Nick. "I remember, and I don't know if you even know this... It was at the Fleetwood Mac show as MSG, and as they're playing 'Landslide,' I found out that [Nick] was going to be a judge on The Voice."

"I was so jealous, I cried my eyes out," Joe remembered. "Of course, it was bittersweet because I'm super happy for him, but I'm also bummed because I want that fucking gig."

Nick ended the conversation by saying, "Isn't it awful when you hate that someone's winning, you're jealous, you're super envious, and then you meet the person or spend time with them, and you're like, 'Damnit, they're so nice!'"
