It's the first Monday in May, and you know what that means... it's the Met Gala!

It's fashion's most important day of the year!

And while a TON of famous people will be in attendance, two very iconic celebs are sitting this year out: Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.

Last week, when asked about the event, Blake told reporters that, unfortunately, she's not going this year: "I will be watching on my couch on Monday."

She also joked that she'd be wearing her 2022 Met Gala gown in the comfort of her own home.

As for Ryan, he explained that he actually wouldn't even be in the US for tonight's event and instead will be in the UK with Rob McElhenney, his close friend and Wrexham AFC Football Club co-partner.

"We'll be in the UK," Ryan told Access Hollywood over the weekend. "We have Wrexham business to deal with."

Ryan and Rob acquired the football club back in 2020, and after spending this season at the top of the National League, the team won the title and was promoted to League Two — a level at which the team hasn't played at in 15 years. 

So, there ya have it, folks. Here's to hoping for a Blake and Ryan appearance at the 2024 Met Gala.
