With the help of extremely skilled groomers, photographer Grace Chon captured dogs strutting their stuff with their newly groomed coats. "I think a lot of us have a fascination with before-and-after images because it’s always fun to see dramatic transformations," Chon tells BuzzFeed. "I had the idea of doing a before-and-after series with dog grooming because there’s something about it that’s so funny to me."

"Sometimes the dog looks so different and you wonder if it’s the same dog in both images," Chon says. "I wanted to capture that idea in the series, and have the after photos be really extreme by showing Japanese dog grooming cuts since they aren’t that common and the results are so over-the-top cute."

"I always hope to portray the humanity of animals in all the work I shoot," adds Chon. "They are our teachers, guides, and best friends. But with this series especially, I also really just wanted people to smile, laugh, and not take life so seriously. There's so much bad stuff happening in the world right now and we could all use a breather, even if it's just five seconds scrolling through social media."
