13 Incredible Photos Taken Through Drops Of Water

    None of these are photoshopped.

Self-taught photographer Alissa Rosenberg began taking photos of water drops when she was bored and it was too cold to go out, then started using the technique to add variety to her own work by shooting objects through the water drops themselves.

To take these photos, Rosenberg places the object in the background and shoots it through the drop at the perfect moment, creating what look like tiny objects captured inside a water drop. "Thanks to science, anything behind a water drop will reflect into the drop upside-down," Rosenberg tells BuzzFeed. "So all of the colours that you see in the photo are really just reflections."

"I have been trying to capture drops with double meanings using a variety of subjects and objects," Rosenberg says. "I am expanding past pencils and have used water droppers, glitter glue droppers, matches, wine bottles, glasses, red Solo cups, and wire. Sometimes the drops are whimsical, playing on a familiar pun or idiom, and other times I have tried to capture more meaningful messages. One of my favourites is 'Unity Drop' [below]' – bringing the colours of the world together in harmony."

"I started experimenting with placing different colour paper behind where the water would drop. I would literally sit holding a pencil or object in my left hand dipping it into the water while shooting pictures on my camera with my right hand. It is a lot of trial and error."
