In our society, there are different race groups and to say that Latinos overuse the welfare system is totally off. Consider the fact that in California, 40% of SNAP recipients are non-Latinos. Therefore, it is not true that Latinos take advantage of welfare. In addition, many people say that undocumented Latinos are also taking advantage of welfare. Let's not forget that undocumented Latinos cannot even apply for this service as they lack a social security number. This belief is simply untrue.

Yes! There are many Latino families who have large families, however, there are other non-Latino groups who also have large families. Latinos value family as their number one priority. They believe in supporting each other in any situation; they are very united. This stereotype is partially false and partially true, as not all Latinos have large families. If you live in California, a state where many Latinos reside, then you may have heard rumors about Latinos being lazy. Many people believe that Latinos do not work enough and therefore live in poverty. However, one of the reasons why many minority groups live in poverty is because many of them have minimum wage jobs. Even though they have multiple jobs, it's still not enough income to support their families as they wish. This stereotype is wrong. Latinos are not Lazy; they work hard and, of course, like any of us, they enjoy taking naps, as this picture shows.

All Latinos speak Spanish

Whenever you tell someone that you are Latino/a, they assume that you are a pro in Spanish. Then, the next question is, " No, where are you really from?" Many Latinos are second, third, or fourth generation. They consider the U.S as their only native country. Assuming that every single Latino speaks Spanish or considers their parents' country as their native country, even though they never been there before, is a really bad way to approach Latinos. Of course, it is a false stereotype.
