In a statement on Twitter, executive producers and showrunners the Duffer brothers announced that production on the Netflix smash's final season has been postponed due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike.

Duffers here. Writing does not stop when filming begins. While we’re excited to start production with our amazing cast and crew, it is not possible during this strike. We hope a fair deal is reached soon so we can all get back to work. Until then -- over and out. #wgastrong

Around 11,500 film and television writers represented by the Writers Guild of America are striking after failing to reach an agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.

"Duffers here. Writing does not stop when filming begins," the statement began.

If you're disappointed that the show's final season has been postponed, I get it. But, honestly, the main issue to focus on here is that corporations like Netflix haven't been paying writers fairly as the industry has drastically changed, due to the success of streaming-era shows like — you guessed it — Stranger Things.

So, if you're a fan of Stranger Things, you should be a fan of writers getting paid fairly for their work. It's really that simple.
