If you're of a certain age, you probably hold the 2010 film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World pretty close to your heart.
Obviously, you also know that Michael Cera played the titular character way back in the day — but you probably didn't know that he didn't feel great after filming on Scott Pilgrim fully wrapped.
During a recent interview with GQ, Michael reflected on the camaraderie that the cast enjoyed while working on the film. “It was so much fun all the time because we just had the greatest vibe with everybody,” he recalled.
“That basically trickled down from [director Edgar Wright], and the energy he was creating. We all got to rehearse together and spend a lot of time together before we even started making the movie.”
The close-knit nature of Scott Pilgrim's cast ended up creating high expectations for Michael when it came to future Hollywood gigs — and it sounds like they weren't met.
“By the end of the movie, I felt like, ‘This is my world. This is my group of friends. It feels like it’s always going to be this way,'” he recalled, before admitting, “Honestly, I was a little depressed when we were done because it all just goes away, and you’re like, ‘Where did everybody go?’"
"You get used to that as you get older and as you’re acting for a while," Michael continued, "but I was sad to lose it. I could have kept making that forever, even though it was exhausting.”
